on my 87 gt 5.0 i have a fuel pressure gauge mounted by the windshield and at an idle its at 35psi. isn't that seem a little low, its got the stock fuel pressure regualtor and fuel pump. and when i'm accelorating its goes up to 42psi and when i let off the gas it goes back down to 35psi. what should it be at an idle and durring acceloration? could it be the pump or regulator

Actually it's perfect. The pressure drops as the engine sees vaccuum, that's how it gets more fuel to the injectors under acceleration. The proper way to test it is to unplug the vac line leading to the regulator at the intake end, then cap the fitting. This simulates WOT. 38-42 PSI is perfectly fine.

Good advice! :bigthumb:
Stock fuel pressure is 38-39 psi with the vac line off. When the vac line is connected, the FP will drop slightly. So 35 psi seems normal to me.
