power brake as in a burnout staying in place? if so yes it can... only Manual tranny eclipses can... pull the the ebrake and do a burnout! ass end keeps the car in place while your spinning the tires!

you can do that in a auto too

ya just hold the brake and push the gas on an auto... i have never tried it in my stick for fear of bouncing out of the car from wheel hop...

well yea but your not spinning the tires while your car is stopped... and when they do spin you are moving!

so you're talking about standing still while back tire spins. i don't think M/T eclipse can do that either.. unless it's a RWD. UNLESS your rear parking brake is powerful enough to hold.

/\ your post didn't even make sence.

what they are talking about is putting on your Ebrake while you try to spin your tires. what it does is gives your car something to help hold it back so it ends up spinning longer (or forever, depending on how much power you are making).

i thought power brakeing was when you brake late and hard in a corner in Auto-X so you can pass someone in that corner? *shrug* i might be wrong...

who's post didn't make sense. :screwy: i am confused

man this thread is getting no where.

powerbraking usually refers to A/T launch. holding down the brake while you build up the rev up to your stall speed then release the brake. number in rev can vary from car to car depends on your mods and the ability of your torque converter.

my auto has plenty of torque. it drags the back wheels

i meant the front tires spin while your car stays in one spot... i can do it, all i do is pull the ebrake and do a burnout, stays in one place the whole time... unless i let the ebrake down

now as for the original poster's question... what exactly do you mean by power brakeing?

Yea some people have called a power brake but its also known as a burnout. Thats what I was going for.

in that case, like jake said, but shift to 2nd or low gear and hold the brake, if it can hold.
