if you can get to a dyno, i would say get the cams and put those cam gears to use tuning the motor. that would probably get you more than the clutch.

so cams would make more difference then a racing clutch and lightened flywheel?

can anyone find out what these OBX STAGE 3 cams actually put out in horsepower after tuning on a b16a motor

something about daily driving with a "stage 3" act (extreme pressure plate) will eventually wear out pretty fast in a way. Not wear out the disc but the throw out bearing or something like that. It may say it is for street but it kinda really isnt. you need to do some kinda of other modification. the heavy duty pressure plate should be more than enough and it is a lot more streetable.

Cams, springs and retainers will put out probably a lot more power than a lightweight flywheel. Stage 3 is a pretty big cam i believe. Not even to sure if it is good for daily driving. Probably get rough idle and crap like that. You will get big gains as long as u compliment those cams with other mods and proper tuning.

yea you are going pretty wild with a set of stage 3's, it is gonna be a terrible idle, id say get some stage 2's and the valve spring/retainer combo.

does anyone know what kind of number's these OBX CAMS put out ... also i am still running a stock clutch that is why i was thinkking of the new racing clutch and flywheel combo... so everyone things i should get stage 2 obx cams then with springs/retainers

obx cams, ive never heard of obx cams. you should talk to a person that actually runs these cams and ask him how streetable it really is because its all talk unless you know someone that actually runs them. kidna like the 404 cams for the ls, people tell me oh its not streetable but then someone who actually runs them says it is streetable, so first hand experience is always better then talk

cams will give you more hp and make you quicker, unless for some odd reason you clutch is slipping with the amount of hp you are making now or if its worn out already, then the clutch will be good

if you go with an act clutch i would recommend hte HD pressure plate with the street disc

All the camshafts for vtec hondas use the stock primary lobe, or a primary lobe that is marginally bigger than stock to make the transition to vtec smoother. A good friend of mine daily drives a b16 with Toda D's and hondata and his car idles fine.

FWIW, I would never ever buy OBX. Every single other part they make is total shit, and cams are not something that you want to fuck around with cheap shit. On top of that, I've never even heard of OBX making camshafts, and they have no mention of them on their site. Big cams suck without bumped compression anyways, so i'd stay away period.
