95 Eclipse engine help

I recently bought a 95 eclipse gs i see in the owners manual that it either has one of two engines does antone know exactly how i can tell which i do know that either waay it is not a turbo but i do want to put a tirbo on it so i need to to know what engine it is

It's either the turbo engine, 4G63, or a non-turbo.. 420A. Those are the only two DSM engines. Before 1995 there was no 420A, so the non turbo engine was a 4G63 also.

so i assume then i have the 420A, so my best option would be to find a 4G63 Turbo engine

Your best option would be to read the information in the sticky threads, because you can't put a 4G63 into a non-turbo eclipse.

dont bother spending your money on a whole new engine just boost the one you have.... it might not be as easy as the 4g63 but it will do

what rods/pistons will you use?

Not sure now I have 2 options so if anyone can give me advice I would appreciate it

Option 1 is buy Crower Rods, JE Pistons, JE Ring Kit

Option 2 (cheaper of the 2 options) I can buy a Kit that has Crower Rods and XT pistons and Rings
