Ok, i was driving the other day and my power died out kinda slowly and died. This made me think it was a bad alternator, well i took out the alternator and it tested fine at the local autozone. So i then took out the battery and had it charged and tested that at the autozone as well, that one tested fine also. The alternator tested at around 14 amps when we tested it. When put back on the car the battery still wasn't getting a charge from the alternator (he hooked up a positive and negative clamp to my terminals). He also said the alternator was only running at 12 amps now. What could possibly be the problem here? i mean this is annoying, both things that could be wrong work fine. Can anyone help me with this please?

i know someone who had this problem with a volvo, the battery tested good and the alternator tested good. we ended up replacing the alternator anyways and problem solved. just make sure the place will give you a refund if it doesn't solve your problem.

It was a blown 15 amp fuse that was under the hood in a panel right around where the overfill tank is
