No oil drain

Hi all. I have a 1992 Plymouth Laser RS with the 2.0 Non turbo 4 in it. The car has been sitting for well over a year without any driving whatsoever. I recently decided to get it back up and running and first of all wanted to change the oil. And there is the problem.

1. I show no oil pressure in the car at all. And the oil level appears to be fine, as well as there being oil up on the cams under the filler cap after running for a couple of minutes.

2. The oil will not drain. Just a small trickle comes out of the drain plug. Probed around the drain hole a bit with a long screwdriver thinking it might have just had a lot of sludge down at the drain. Still nothing.

I have pulled off the valve cover and have no excess oil up there and the oil returns seem to be unobstructed. I am thinking I will have to pull the oil pan and check for sludge/sediment down there. I have probed around a bit with a screwdriver in the drain hole and still get nothing coming out. Any ideas on gettin oil to drain with pan still on? ( Hate the thought of pulling the pan off when the car is still full of oil)

I am not sure where the oil filter is on a 4g63 but on my 420a I pulled the oil filter and it dumped about 1/3 of my oil.

Oil filter on the 4g63 is about a foot inside the driver's side of the front bumper. Could there be something wrong with your oil pressure sending unit?

Try taking the filter off and see what happens. If that doesn't solve it pull the oil pan. Maybe there is sludge in the dipstick tube that isn't revealing the true oil level when you check it...You shouldn't be driving the car with no oil pressure anyway, so keep troubleshooting until you find out what's wrong.

Its a good idea to check your oil filter and see if she is dry and if there is some in there then go ahead and take off the oil pan then you know for sure

did you try to put oil in? try puting a qt of oil in and see if it drains... put a funnel with a bottle under the pan so you can reuse the oil... if it doesnt drain then pull the oil pan!
