It is regulated by campaign finanace reform. It all goes into the economy though.

It all comes out of the economy too,so it has a net zero effect.Except if some bonehead millionaire decides to give the price of a new car to his party of choice, instead of buying a new car, there is absolutely nothing tangible to show for it after November.

Campaign money is Phantom money in politics. It exists, but doesnt really. Its actually a waste to donate, since the government allocates money to all candidates.

It looks like we should spend it on education for our people. Who is this anyone you speak of? The political figures in our country don't have some magical ferry watching over them. Don't like it, don't donate.

Hey, I am still wondering how Ted Kennedy keeps getting re elected.
Realistically, though, large, and I mean BIG political donations are suspect. Would people donate so much money to be philanthropic? It seems more likely they are seeking fuuture favour from the politician or party.
Personally, I think it is naive of people to thing this does't happen. Of course it does.
Therefore, there is a case for capping the size of donations (although there are ways around that, too)
