hey all, im putting a set of 31x10.5's on my 1995 wrangler, and was wondering what i have to do to make sure the speedo reads true??? seeing as im stepping up from 26in tall tires. im sure lots of people have done this, just dont know alot about jeeps.

If you have a 3.07 ratio use a 27 tooth and for a 3.55 use a 31 tooth gear.

I'd then double check by timing the mile markers on the highway somewhere. should be pretty close.

There may be other ratios for your wrangler too.

What ratio and what speedo gear do you have now??

umm................ no idea, ill have to figure that out i guess, i am a camaro guy as you can see in my sig, and the jeep was kinda dropped in my lap by a cousin that died. so i dont really know alot about it, is there any build sheet with codes on it that can tell me what gears i have??? like the camaro has a sheet in the glove box with three digit build codes, G80 is positraction, GU2 is a 2.73 gear stuff like that.

If you look on the tag on one of the diffs, it should tell you what the ratio is.

A frendly Jeep dealer will print out a line sheet for you. I got my JGC line sheet from the parts man when I bought some parts. It can tell you any outstanding recalls too.
