Hello, I'm new to the forums (goes without saying I'm sure) here and am in need of advice on a purchase. You see I've been looking for an Eclipse, specifically a 95 for about three years and I finally found one. The problem is that while at the dealership some people broke into it, stealing the CD-Player, ripping the rear speakers out (they left them because they damaged the saulder points for the wires severly) destroying the center console, tearing the molding down in the rear seats, and shattering the glass for the sunroof (point of entry). All the previous offers that they have recieved for the car were withdrawn (theft can do that!) and I've haggled the price down to ~$1,100 with the dealership manager. What I need to know is would it be a good deal, or is the sunroof glass center console and rear seat molding going to make it pointless?
Thanks,
Thanks,

is it a rs/gs, gst, or gsx?. how many miles? are you going to fix the interior yourself or take it to a shop. or are you going to do a custom interior? i dont know 2g (2nd generation 95 to 99) very well but i know the sunroofs are power sliders that may not be cheap to fix if they busted the tracks when they smashed the glass. if you do buy it jake(eclipseRST) can probably sell you all the parts you need to fix it.

The car is a 95 Eclipse GS with 115,128 miles ( I'm sure of the 115k, not the 128 though) on it. I don't know alot about cars, however any time something breaks I buy a book and learn how to fix it myself, cars inlcuded, so I plan to repair everything on my own. I do plan on doing a custom interior (the previous owner went to OBU and SPRAY PAINTED the current interior green and yellow) but I'm not sure how soon.

Seems like a good buy to me. The stuff should cost 500 to fix AT MOST

if that is all you can afford... welcom to the eclipse community...
but if not, keep looking for one, preferably with a turbo... :)

Thanks for the advice, I'll update once I've had a chance to go over the car again and make a final decision, but it looks like I'll go ahead and get it.
BTW I'll more than likely be in touch about the sunroof parts. :)
