X5 Radio Removal for Aux Adapter

I purchased the Aux adapter for my 2004 x5, which is suppose to plug into the Radio. The instructions that came with the plug has Step 1 remove Radio. Does anyone know how to remove the radio. It looks like the face plate should just pop off, but when I tried it didn't budge.
