Okay, I was backing into my driveway and i stopped on the curb while backing up. And then i gently pressed the gas, i didn't gun it, i barely touched it...my truck made a sound like the tires were squealing and then the next day i noticed that when i started it it sounded like a belt or something was loose in my engine....? It doesn't do it all the time...unfortunately it stopped doing it right when i took it to the dealer... then did it on the way home. Luck, huh? Yea, but the mechanic guy said he thought it was the U-joint... what do you guys think??

u-joints don't make noises when starting!!
more than likely a glazed serp belt //
try pressing the brake to the floor and turn the steering wheel all the way to 1 side // while holding the brake pedal to the floor give it a little gas //
this will put a load on the motor and components // should make the noise // if not try the serp belt first any way //

I NOTICED it after i started it, i turned it off right when i got home the night before. It did it while sitting there and also while driving driving. Sounds like a slipping belt, but not sure. HELP!!!!!

well, try checking the belt and pulleys. Look at the tensioner arm and make sure it isnt separating from the spring housing. If the belt isn't all cracked and wore out, get a tube of electrical-grease and use a tiny drop in the tip of your finger, just enough to barely wet your finger tip. Rub a small line across the top and bottom of the belt. No more belt noise.
Don't use anything else to do that.
** OHH and please make sure you turn the vehicle off first! :D
