88 Cavalier Z24 2.8 Cooling System

My g/f drives a Cavalier and it has a small leak from the Radiator SOMEWHERE. I am pretty sure it is coming from the housing below the Radiator Cap. Anyone know anything about it??? I need to know about the WATER PUMP. Will water/antifreeze flow through the system when you pour it in-withough 'turning it over'? When you start the engine...IF the engine sucks the water through....is her water pump bad???
