'98 Taurus transmission etc

I have been experiencing the following problems with my '98 Taurus:

1. Feels as if transmission is missing a gear when making a sharp left turn from a stop. This doesn't occur every day but enough to be noticed. I have also felt the same when accelerating on an incline.

2. The light beneath the dash remains on and the automatically locking doors do not lock once the vehicle begins to move. If I try to engage the lock manually at this point they merely unlock again.

Any suggestions?

1) Check the transmission fluid level. Also if you have not changed it or the filter since you've owned the car, it would be a HIGHLY suggested maintainance proceedure

2) the vehicle thinks one of the doors is still open. It also see's the key in the ignition, and won't allow you to lock the doors so that you can't lock your keys in. One of the door pins is bad, or one of the doors is way out of adjustment.

Hello, this is a quick tip that will most likely work for your door sensor problem as though i had to fix that problem just to days ago in my grandmothers 97 taurus "just take a lil WD-40 or something of its kind and spray it up in the door locks in the area where the door locks to the body and open and close the door a few times dont waste money on buying a new switch or anything like that. let me know how this works for you!
