clutch 2002 WRX

My '02 WRX has 42,000 miles on it and I am tired of the clutch grabbing. I have heard that there was a recall under warranty but now it's too late. I want to put in a new clutch and I am looking for comments and suggestions. I am pretty handy is it soemthing I can do myself? I drive the car hard.
