this is just me venting, but oh well...
i am graduating college in 4-5 weeks (finally) and i am looking forward to the real world where i dream of having a great job, making lots of money and fixing up my car the way ive always wanted to.

Reality check..i owe $26,000 in loans (which i guess is not that much...it was only two years) but still...it means my 93 hatch with be like 15-16 years old when i finally get my loans payed off and can start working on it....

i may as well just forget the civic, and buy a used 2004 Accord Coupe V6 (by then on 04 will be a few years old)

im tired, so im probably not making sense.....

there is this company, who (for $49.99) and 7 day shipping will allow you to assemble tiny little christmas ornaments, and they are VERY simple to do with a glue gun, or if you can do fiber.

you do it from home, they ship you products...you get $37.50 for every 50 peices (1 unit) that you make, and its a really good program.

that might allow you to pay off some of your debt a little faster, you could easily do an extra $250-$450 a week....depends on what you want to do...you might divide it in half and save for a car, or for a trade to a 6th gen civic or something like that.

You could totally build those things while watching tv, playing video games...they can fit in the palm of your hand, they are so small.

exman, I hope you're kidding about the military... I saw guys get killed - and one guy kill himself - because they joined for college money or because they were bored or some such thing and weren't prepared for the consequences. Don't do it for a car, for Christ's sake. I should have been more clear before. The GI Bill is okay, but it's just a benefit, not a reason to join. It will never make up for all the bullshit I went through to get this far.

A car is the means to get from home to school to work and back again. Anything else you do to it is secondary to that, and if you give up important things in your life just to have a twelve-second Civic, you'll regret it.
I drive a pretty nice car, compared to most of my friends at least, but it was just something I picked up on my way through real life. My mods were a way to kill time on the weekends. I fucking LOVE street racing, but it's not my life. And I know that at any time I could wreck and watch all those hours of work get turned into scrap metal. I'd be bummed, but I could walk away from that with no regrets, because in the end it's just a car. Most of you younger guys will realize this stuff pretty damn quick after high school.

I agree don't take any time off just for a car. I personaly just graduated from college last year and now all the bills are catching up with me like the school loans and the all the other bills because I just bought a house. But I tell you what I still better off then some of my friends. I have one friend who had to take a year of school to catch up with his bills because he bought a brand new car and my other friend is about to claim bankrupcy because he bought a new car too and charged up a bunch of stuff on his credit cards for aftermarket parts. I instead saved my money bought a wrecked 96 civic and I fixed it all up, and I tell you I got the nices car between all my friends (except my one buddy got a 04 cobra it's nice but joined the army to make payments on it) And the nicest thing about my car is its nice and its all PAYED for..

you wont be able to go back to school after taking a year off. sounds like a great idea but if your parents have medical insurance through work you wont be able to get it anymore and a lot of other crap. thats just one reason. the biggest reason, you wouldn't be able to get your lazzy ass up and actually go

i might actually go to the military but a car would be the last reason a go.
lets see i have two brothers, one in the marines(might go to iraq in 7 monthes/22years old)
another in the ohio army national guard (has been in iraq/ kuwait for almost 2 years and is currently spending time on to of a hummer doing convoy security through baghad/ just turned 21)
and my dad has also been a cop for 23 years.

Exman, as long as you have better reasons than a car, which it seems you do, then that's cool. Despite all the hard times (or maybe because of them) the Marine Corps was one of the best things I've ever done with my life. Just think everything through and do the right thing. Good luck.

I'm tired of everyone blaming shit on Bush, when you know damn well you couldn't do any better as president. Funny how when 9/11 happened everyone wanted to go to war, and we had such pride in the U.S. of A. But soon as we begin fighting a war, and people die, which should be common sense. I used to feel the same way as you guys, when I was younger. I used to spout off about how we should go out and kick the shit out of anyone who fucked with us. Well let me save you some embarrassment and disappointment: it doesn't work that way. First, Bush and his administration have admitted that there are no weapons. They say now that sadaam had the power to maybe produce them, which is still crap.

But what i really wanna know is how can you support a man that is holding on to the weapons, hiding them, just to help him get re-elected. Show the rest of the world these weapons so that maybe they will support us for once.

What kind of horrible president would let american citizens keep dying and dying, just so he could hold out on proving to the world there are weapons of mass destruction.

Bush is trying to fight a war against terrorism, you see it all the time "the war against terrorism"...now if that is not bullcrap i dont know what is. he is trying to fight an ideology of people who have hatred for americans. Let me tell everybody something from an Iraqi. I respect people's opinions and other stuff about how bad P. Bush is but the only thing Bush knows is that the whole country Iraq loves him because for the last maybe 40 years they whole country and other countries have been in war and very scared of what he could do to people. I have been in the USA for about 8 years and all I can say that when I saw a pictures of a mother holding a maybe 4-5 month baby in her arms and hugging it, but the wrong part about that was that they were died on the streets rotten and they were like frozen, but not really frozen if you mean what i'm saying. Saddam did that to civilians like the mother and baby, I would say that he might not have been realted with the 9/11, but I sure say that he is involved in about terrorising a whole country and killing and also probably know one knows this but Saddam has killed some of his children not the two sons that were killed, but like his other girls with like 2 other wives and he killed his girls because he didn't like their husband and he made the husbands shoot his girls if they didnt he would kill both of them. It's kind of sick to see people going into grinders and believe it's one of the most sickining thing you could ever see, and that's just because when you lived in Iraq you would think will I be next into the grinder or one of my family. So it's pretty scary and like in schools they had to have a pic of Saddam if they didnt they would take all the kids and teachers and just one by one kill them in front of their parents. my brother just 2 days ago called from bahgdad and said that he found 3 injured iraqies. they had been shot. he was the first on the seen and saved thier lifes. the news media does not want to show any support for bush because they are way out there some were in the political spectrum
