Ridiculous And Retarded Tickets

I just wanted to make a thread for anyone who has ever recieved a ticket for something they thought was ridiculous or retarded, just to let a little aggression out! :)

I'll start, tonight around 1 AM I was cruisin to the store to get some ice cream. It's 1 AM not a car on the road, so I leave a stoplight and after a few seconds look down and see I hit 60 in a 40, so I coasted down figuring "it's no big deal, this is a 5 lane wide road with nobody on it". As I start to coast down I see car lights about a half mile down the road, by the time the car gets to me i'm back down to 40. Of course it was a cop and he decides to turn around, tail me for a while, and pull me over. Then after being ever so polite as if he was gonna let me off, because what harm was I doing going 60 for 5 seconds on an empty road, he hands me a ticket for 59 in a 40 and says "have a goodnight". And i'm just like "are you kidding me?? its 1 AM, i'm not drunk, there's no way possible I could harm anyone by what I did, yet I get a ticket." It just doesn't make sense to me to be ticketed for something that's harmless, when there's people driving drunk and high all over, and in traffic. I can understand when I'm doing 80 in a 55 or 130 in a 35 if I get a ticket, but nobody drives the speed limit, they drive whatever is safe to drive. I think for a cop to give you a speeding ticket there has to be some kind of danger caused by the speeder, especially in this situation, but not when it was for 5 seconds on a road with nobody on it. Agree or Disagree?

Please feel free to share your own stories and let me know what you think! :)

Its to bad he wrote that ticket up. Pretty poor judgement in my opinion. But, I have a low opinion of traffic cops anyway so don't pay me any attention.

I think that sucks man! Cops never drive below 65 mph, EVER! And they should be setting the example. My story: It was about 2 years ago. I had a red 1993 Eclipse GSX. My girlfriend (now my wife) bought me some red led window washers which I installed. One night I'm driving home from her house and a cop lights me up, I pull over and turn the car off. The guy orders me to get out of my car with my hands in the air and face him. then he says "put your hands on the roof of the car and dont move". I'm freaking wondering why! the guy comes up and frisks me. then he says loud as hell and up in my face like a highschool gangster "Show me your fucking badge". I'm like what badge? "your police badge, now" Im like "i'm not a cop" ,"are you a firefighter?" "No sir, I'm not" "are you a paramedic? is this your ambulance", "no sir" The cop litterally pushed me up against the car with his hand on my back and says "then why the fuck do you have red lights on your car? you wanna go to jail for impersonating a police officer?" then he wrote me a ticket for $49.00. all that harrasment for 50 bucks!

Its exactly shit like that which gives the 1% of good traffic cops a bad name

Dang!!!! the guy with the red led lights thats screwed up. I would of reported that man. You could of at least got his badge id or something then you could of filed a police harrasment or something.

lol, haha. my friend (son of a cop) was impersonating a cop on purpose. he drives a 96 impala ss (looking very similar to caprices) and put a red and blue strobe lights in his car and was pulling people over --people he knew like friends, me for one....but he was driving up to a party with the strobes on, in an attempt to crash the party. an airport security guard saw it, got in his car and started chasing my friend around the neighborhood. my friend eventually decided to pull over, the cops came...and they just laughed it off. they took the lights but no ticket or warning. just a "are you an idiot" comment by one of the cops. i think that's pretty funny in comparison to musashi3000GT's story.

yeah i agree formula\

and ya mushashi i would file a harasment report all that was not necessary - i got pulled over for green lights he ask me if i was any of the people paramedic... ect.... an i said no - he gave a 47 dollar fine for improper lights an i was on my way - on the ticket get his badge number off it an file a harass. charge that is not a proper traffic stop - he is way to cocky an irrogant - get the mother fucker charged. .... . good luck - 80% chance ya will win

as for doing 60 at 1 am in the morning with no one on the road, i find it very ridiculous that the cop gave u a ticket. In the rule book here in GA it says drive at a safe and prudent speed and doing 60 for 5 secs with no one on the road is prudent in my opinion.

Do they have quotas to meet or something? Seems like 1/2 the time they are itching to tickey you and others they couldnet care less.

yes, there are quotas they have to meet, at least with the police department here. in indianapolis, the have a certain number each month. that's when alot of police come out, at the end of the month, every month. so it kinda makes it easier on the driver to know when to drive a little more cautious in regards of speed.

Well this is my first car so i've never gotten a ticket, yet :). I mean i dont plan to, but if the time comes, this is how i'm gonna handle it.

*Cop lights flash, i pull over, officer walks towards my vehicle*

*I roll down my window*

and you see, right before he even says a word, you say:
*Do you know why you pulled me over?*

or i would pull over to a complete stop, then as he's walkin towards the car lmao pull up a little (or way) farther and make the him/her walk further :) what else ....

lol or right at the very second you see the 5-0 lights flashing, roll down your window and stick out ur License and Registration with ur left hand lmao as you pull over. I mean that's nice right? He doesn't have to waste his breath and ask :D.

Or if it's not raining, turn ur wipers on for no reason at all.

If i get pulled over though, i'm definitely gonna blast the Mitsubishi Eclipse commercial song from Dirty Vegas, and just start poppin' n lockin' and doing hand movements :).

"do u know y i pulled u over?''
"do u know how fast u were going?"

questions like these, it just makes me laugh!!!!

I got a ticket a few days ago for going 50 in a 35. It was a 4 lane road (2 both ways) with no other cars around. The cop made a u-turn, from the other lane, like I was going 100mph. (I forgot to mention I was in my 1990 Camry too.) I figured he just wanted to make sure I wasn't drunk or something. Thought I would just get away with a warning. Nope, $75 and 2 points. What a bunch of crap.

I've only been pulled over once, a few weeks ago before I got my 3000, I was in my dad's 4Runner driving through another town and there was this cop behind me, I didn't think he was gonna pull me over so I kept going 45 in a 35 zone like I had done so many times in my own town. Of course he pulls me over and says "I know you saw me tailing you for the past 5 minutes! What were you thinking?" so I said there was no exscuse and played it cool and he let me off with a warning saying "at least your honesty makes up for your stupidity!"

I agree with Yogs....only about 1% of cops are actually "good." Me and my buddy were driving one day and decided to grab something to eat so we turned into this lane and the edge of his Lexus was sticking into the other lane. Seriously, not even enough to block a car but the cop pulls us over. First thing that comes out of his mouth is "Is this your car." Stupid man, he's driving it damn. That cop was probably just hating because my friend was driving a Lexus (GS400) and he didn't have one. Anyways, so he gives us the ticket....I think it was like $200 something too.

Oh yeah, and I heard something about they really do have to meet quotas or something so they kinda just give everyone a ticket. I can't stand cops like that.....darn jerks.... Don't their pay come from our taxes too? Oooooh that drives me mad.

That sucks Marc and Slade, thats the kind of stuff that just doesnt have anything to do with protecting or serving, just money making and quota meeting. But thats the way the system works I guess, they hand you a pointless ticket, go to court and get it reduced, and pay your fine.

I didnt bother charging him with crap because the department wouldnt do shit about it. Look, my brother was 16 years old and went to a mall. it was past curfew. he was sitting down with his 3 friends and his girlfriend and a cop came up to him. the cop asked for ID and my brother got up to pull it out of his back pocket the cop goes "WOOOOW where the fuck do you think you going so fast?" My bro replied "I was just getting up cause my wallet is in my pocket" "You a smart ass son, you really wanna fight a cop, I'll fuck you up!" My brother sat down and says "ok sorry" the cop tackled him to the floor put his hands behind his back and cuffed him and said "I asked you for ID you retard, you trying to hide something from me, you wanna break curfew and talk shit to a cop? your going to jail". My brother wassent breaking curfew, he was sitting waiting for his freinds mom to bring the van around. We went to court and fought and sewed and everything. In the end the other two cops testified that my brother had put his hands on the cops collar and attempted to strike him despite the fact that mall cameras caught the whole thing. the court rulled out the tape and in favor of the officer.

I bet a guy like that has so many enemies that he wouldn't know who to start with!

a couple weeks ago i got pulled over for having "excessive lights". i had the normal headlights, the factory foglights, and some aftermarket foglights installed.
i could understand if they were all aimed in such a manner as to aggrevate, but they were carefully aligned to be as pleasant as possible, and i've not gotten one complaint.

to top it off, the cop was extremely rude and unhelpful, and upon questioning him where i could find more information about the law i broke, he said "look it up"

here is what it looked like when i could drive it with all the lights on:

thats a really dumb ticket, just for money, you don't need to understand the danger of "excessive lights" b/c there isn't any, they just made a law to take some of your money.

i was pullin out of my neighborhood today onto the main road.. and there were a couple cars going by... with a cop as the last one... so after the cop goes by.. i took a left... the cop was already going the opposite direction.. so i look in my rear view mirror and see him hitting his brakes.... i take a left onto another road that i was going down anyways, and after goin a few 100 feet down that, i see that cop turn down the road.... so about a mile later i see that cop gaing on me.. so he puts on the blue lights..i was goin 43 in a 45.. so i know he wont pullin me over for speeding.. i wasnt even doing anything wrong! but anyways, i pull off and he get out of the car... comes over to mine. and asks me for the liscence and registration of course... then he tells me that cops were in a pursuit w/ a white 3000gt the other day.. and he gets to lookin at my car and realizes mine is a stealth...so he called it in and got a description of the car and it wont mine of course... so he took a few photos of my car.. then one of me so that no cops will pull me over for thinkin i was the guy... it was my first time being pulled over... but atleast no ticket :)

I've honestly gotten so used to getting pulled over that I just laugh when it happens now. I've been pulled over 11 times now and only had a $20 seatbelt ticket stick(my punishment for doing 107 in a 55)...but my girlfriend made a good point.
I technically deserve to get pulled over pretty much everytime I leave the house, so I shouldn't get upset when it actually happens. But anyway...the point of this post, if any of you are like me and happen to have what some may refer to as a slight "speeding problem" check out

I've had that happen Stealth, the cop pulls me over while i'm working (when I had an Integra)...he's like "didn't you have florida plates on this car yesterday?" and i'm like "dude im sure my Integra is the only Ferrari on the road in New York, but no wasn't me", so he says sorry and leaves...i was just left thinking WTF was that?

Crazy I just saw this thread, just posted my worst ticket hah...

I got a $534 ticket about a month ago. Wanna know what for? Was driving my friends S-10 home, first rain in about 2-3 weeks, so his tires got slippery as shit, cop saw me spinning em (on pure accident) accelerating through an intersection. Told me it was a Level 2 Reckless driving ticket or some bullshit. Turns out the judge I was placed with has been through must street racing ticket cases, and when he heard my plea (s-10, rwd, light in the back, never driven before, was being DD, first rain in 1/2 a month)..threw it out. I got a $534 ticket thrown out.

I've been pulled over around 5-6 times. First time, I was doing about 55 in a 35. Cop was in an unmarked car and tagged me...but apparently I was going "too fast" and he couldn't catch up...what a crock of shit. So another cop pulls me over down the road, checks my license and registration, says wait here. Unmarked cop comes flyin up and gets out just flaming. Comes up to me and asks if I'm f***ing stupid. Tells me I'm breaking the law by sooooo much. He literally said all of this too...Anyway, in Washington, you have to have your license for 6 months before you can have other people in your car, I had my brother, his friend, and my girlfriend. NONE had their seatbelts on (100 for each). Didn't get a ticket. I just acted calm and said yes sir I'm sorry sir. He said it was a BIGTIME warning and he was gonna call my parents, never did.

Those 2 are the biggest in my mind. I haven't actually had to pay for a ticket yet, but I plan on outrunning the cops on a Ducati 999R and getting a night in the slammer for a night of fun. Hahaha

most cops don't use proper judgement when upholding the law. They think in career advancement and boredom. When a sports car and a van are both going 20mph over the speed limit, the stupid cops pull over the sports car. Why are they stupid?

for one they think that person deserves the ticket for the type of car they drive, which is a result of bored agression. Second, in an emergency situation (like having to stop suddenly or swerve) which car would be better suited at such a speed? Certainly not the worst handling vehicle possible, the van.

Being a good officer isn't about anything more than making the best decisions for the community. When you have a personal motive (such as pressure from the cheif to write more citations, resentment, etc) you are no longer an officer of the law but an officer of your own laws. You weren't hired to act this way, and the people you abuse aren't paying your paycheck for this purpose either.

Like a bad cop would even get the point though, why bother ranting.
