will a non aod c4 work in my 88

i need a new trans and this guy in my city has a c4 form his torino he wants 200 for it with the shift kit installed. wil it work?

what the diffrence between the aod and the non aod trans

AOD has 4 gears, C4 has 3. C4 does not have an overdrive, meaning its top gear(3rd gear) is a 1:1(or nearby) drive ratio. AOD does. As for will work, yes. If you have a 302 it will bolt up(and maybe even if you don't, not sure on non-v8 bellhousing patterns). You will need a c4 torque converter, and most likely a driveshaft(they're probably different lengths.) I think the trans crossmember/mount is the same for both c4 and aod, but not sure on that. You won't have OD, so your highway rpms will be higher, but it will work.
