I have zero knowlegde on car shows. I was hoping someone would have some helpful information on getting started.
I have a '02 Firebird stripped. I have a plan set out what I want to do to the car, but no money to even begin. I'll be doing all the work myself. I'd really like to get it into some car shows. A couple of dozen a year if possible.
I really don't know where to start though going about getting sponsors and money and parts. Any help would be awesome. If you have any add'l questions to help you help me, just fire away.
A question I have is, I refuse to have any sponsor stickers on my car. My remedy to that though is to have a booth setup with sponsor boards and I would like to sell products. I was in sales with a Fortune 10 company (actually ranked 2nd) and I can sell anything to anyone. So I feel that will be a stong suit of mine. Any thoughts on this idea if it'll work or not?
Another question I have is, is $40,000 a reasonable number to shoot for for a goal of money i'll need?
Thanks for reading!

40 grand is more then enuff
1st off you have to set a goal. do you want a full wild show car(lambo doors everything shaved tv etc)or do you want a mild show car that you can still enjoy driving
where do you live? if you want to attend 6 shows a year it will probley be hard depending on where you live, there alot of import shows and then theres alot of classic shows,so your firebird will be out of place
as far as sponsers 99% of the time they want to have the car already finsih and a proven winning record before most company will dish out money or parts and most of them will damand that you place there logo on your car, best way to get sponser is to got show and talk with companys and also send a letter with pics info and goal with your show record(almost like a job resumee)
as far as your firebird i dont really know much about them but, mild class you would want big rims, bodykit, radio upgrade and tv's, lowered ,clean paint or custom paint some interior work and motor work, for a wild class car you would need full interior, custom body work (shave handle tail or headlight conversion),air bags, custom paint
got the show in your area to see your competion and dont be afraid to talk to other people and judges to get idea's
btw my show experance is about 30 trophys (nopi, nira etc..) been on tv twice, and small part in fast and the furious 2
