Power Steering Pump

I m getting fluid building up in the cap of my ower steering pump. I am not sure if it is power steering fluid or not. The insulation on the hood is also getting damp. I have inspected the cap and it does not have any cracks or pinholes in it. Iam thinking that power steering fluid is coming out of the overflow hole in the top of the cap. I dont seem to be low on fluid though. This has been going on for awhile. I was wondering if anybody else has had this problem or knows what could be going on. Also, the pump says "remfg" on the front so I am thinking that it was replaced at one time. Thanks for your help.

Are you getting oil build up in the cap or on the cap? The hole in the cap is a vent hole not an overflow hole. Is the level in the pump as prescribed on the dip stick? Seems strange you wouldn't have a fluctuation in the fluid level if you were spewing fluid.

also it should be noted that on the dipstick there are 2 sides, one for hot and one for cold, and if you look in your owners manual then you can see which tempreature each side of the dipstick represents

Are you sure it is PS fluid and not antifreeze from the water pump?
