I was wondering which box I sould get for my soon to arrive MTX 8000 15's. Ill be running them off of an 81000D each (~1100 RMS). Im trying to decide between a 1.75 & 2.25 Cu. Ft. MDF enclosures. Could I get the large one & port it & still have it sound good :uhoh: ? What dimension ports would most guys reccomend. Probably 4(round) by how long? Sounds like it would work to me!

Also, Im gonna need/want a cap. rite? Well, How many farad? Im thinking one farad each? or can I buy one 2F cap. and have both amps running thru it.
Thanks a bunch guys!

Put them in a sealed box and get a two farad cap.

sealed box volume 1.25 - 2.50 cuft.
ported box volume 2.00 - 4.00 cuft.

with sealed, you can get away with a little size error, but not too much with ported. It can make a drastic reduction in performance for even small errors. when you get your subs it will have the optimal specs. for that sub.

What do ou guys think about the MTX 8000 line of subs and the 81000D amp?

i think manufactures make the best mates for their own subs, and i think those two are good mates
