Oil Pressure problem

hey all i think i am beginning to run into a problem with my oil pressure, but not sure. when the car idles the needle lays just above the red area (low end) but when i take off it jumps up to the normal 60 lb mark. is this a problem, i can't remember it idling that low but wanted to see what some of your cars are idling at. i have the cat punched out, could that be affecting anything? one more thing here lately when i take off it kinda cuts out not much but just a little hesitation and every now and then i here a little pop. nothing major but very annoying. is this due to the loss of back pressure since my cat is punched out. i would greatly appreciate any advice, especially on the oil presusure. thank you
