hi everyone..
stopped by to Stillen.com and saw their X being modified and lowered. I'm curious.. are you able to lower the vehicle by removing one of the leafs springs (or is that even possible to remove)?? how is it done?
thanks!

You do realize that this is a 4x4 Xterra board right?
Removing a leaf spring would lower it, but would likely trash your ride and the spring itself in a short amount of time. The leafs are already crap.
If one were to lower an Xterra, the best cheap method would be lowering blocks (probably $10), and the ride would be virtually unchanged in the rear.
In the front torsion bars could be adjusted 1-1.25 inches.
Questions about lowering will be ridiculed on this board because Xterra's should go up, not down.

Jump it off a really high jump - the landing should lower it significantly :D
I am not sure how you would lower an X other than put some of those little wheels and tires on it and maybe get some shorter shocks. Im not sure altering the leaf springs would do a lot of good. If you drop the X be careful of what is hanging down close to the road. The X isnt designed to be a low-rider so you might find some serious work ahead of you if you really want to do that. You might want to make an obvious post to the road-oriented XTerra's like Sham etc. There are mostly Four Wheelers on this board but I think there are some suburb cruisers too so you might direct conversation to them for best results and minimal flaming. If you lower your X please post pics - I am curious on how one would go about it effectively.
Cheers

Affordable Xterra Lowering kit (http://www.kalecoauto.com/appear.htm)
You might as well get a Pilot Wrench (http://www.kalecoauto.com/tools.htm) while you're at it.

Ok buds..
This is just a question about lowering the X. I was CURIOUS to see if anyone has done it..
And if you were bright enough to actually see that the review i posted was in error to the wrong vehicle while i was righting the review.. (u guys are alittle too much .. pls.. pls.. control yourselves).
I'm here to just post a question on one of the vehicles I like and do not feel that I should be ridiculed for it. You do know than comments or reviews that anyone writes is what that person feels.. So slam me if you want, I can only laugh about it.. if you have nothing good to say, don't say it. =)

You smelled like TROLL. So sue me.
About lowering do a search. This is a 4X4 forum, non of us are assinine enough to intentally do a mod that will inhibit us from wheeling. Our favorite reply is the do the COLT 45 mod. (shoot out your tires) My personal opinion is to not lower it but put some 20's on it with some nitto404's. Than go big pimpin in NYC:devil:

No worries Xterrasec - it was a bit strange though and with some of the wankers on forum's theses days it is easy to get flamed 'coz some dumb crap frequently gets posted (Cushy ride etc). It is a 4X4 board so it was a little out of place..... Say hi to the sun down there for me (and the rest of us in the NorthWest).
Cheers & many beers

I forgot who said it first but..
I think the fastest way to lower your Xterra is to shoot out the tires.

Not that it matters, but I said this in the Xterra FAQ back in 2000. ;)

oh it matters, last thing I want to do is to claim I said it first. That is why it says the most common response is shoot out the tyres (for my canadian bros).
