ive had a kenwood dac718 amp powering my subs for a while then i disconected it for the past 6 months or so, whill i got new speakers.
so i go to hook the amp back up today, all i did was take out the fuse a few months ago.
now that ive reinserted it im getting no sound, and the light on the amp isnt turning on.
all of the connections still seem ok.
is there anyway to test the output of the amp?
sould i get a 10 volt current from my speaker outputs?

Check your ground... if the light isnt coming on, you arent properly grounded.

no its grounded fine, my test light is grounded to the same spot and that shows that there is power going into the amp.

did you disconnect the power when you put the fuse in, or just plug it in? if you just put it in, then there may have been a large enough spark of power to either hurt something in the amp or the fuse itself just blew. make sure the lead to the deck is still connected well so the amp knows to turn on as well. if you have another amp that you can test things out with, just install that one onto the same wires to make sure all the connections are still good. make sure to disconnect the battery before doing anything to stay safe and protect your shit.

no I didnt disconnnect when I put the fuse back in, but the fuse is still good. Is there any way to test the amp (I do not have another amp to test my connections with.
