Easy Tranny

Haha...the title sounds a little not right but heres my quesiton.

Ok..im tryin to put my tranny in but the headders are in the way. i got the tranny down by twisting it and then raising it. anyone know of a different way to do it thatll be easier?

take the one of the headers off. probably the drives side. and you better hope they will actualy clear your tranny, cuz if i remember corectly some actauly wont clear that tranny but im not sure on your car.

itll clear it...its just where the bolts are on the housing. that part that sticks out is gettin in the way. i tried takeing the drivers headder off and i broke a bolt so i stopped...started swearing and throwing shit while my friend watched me.

the only way your gonna get it back in is by twisting it and raising the front, the same way you got it out! I remember doin' mine on my driveway with like 9 inches of clearance..lol That sucked..

yea when i had long tubes i had to lift up the motor to get them in and out....

on my 1500 the cat was in the way, had to pull the whole cat-back to get it off, then had lo split the cat tube lengthwise where it overlapped because it wouldn't come off and my dad wouldn't help me find som penetrating oil haha cut all the brackets too. I didn't even jack up my truck the only good jack we have is the only one that accommodates a tranny bracket

You could try jacking up the rear of the engine a bit, on one side or another.. Might help

u dont have to worry bout this thread anymore...i got it in...just took 3 guys to twist it and shove it up there.
