Ozz Fest 2004

I hit the tour opener at the Meadows in Hartford this past Saturday. It continues to be a good show and a great time every year. Hard to imagine that out of the greater Hartford community every year all these people come out of the woodwork to hang out half-naked in the sun, drink themselves silly getting burned to a crisp and partying like rock stars. Every year I wonder where they are the rest of the year. Pretty funny.
Anyway, it was nice seeing Hatebreed and Slipknot again. Both were very good, and the pit during Slipknot's set was ridiculous. I'd never seen so many people emerge from a moshpit battered and in many cases bloody from a single one-hour set. Judas Priest and Black Sabbath were both excellent. But the show stealer this year was Slayer (http://www.americanrecordings.com/slayer/). I had no idea how much ass they kick live. They played so tight as a band, with great feel and impressive polish. No lip-sinking or any such bullshit. They made their material, some of which is over 20 years old now, sound renewed and fresh all over again. They earned a lot of respect from me. If you've got tickets to see Ozz Fest (http://ozzfest.com/) this year, you're in for a treat.

I heard that Slayer wants to do a show every night on the tour but ozzy can only do like 1 or 2 shows a week so Slayer wants to do their own shows, but Sharon will not let them do a show within like 200 miles of the ozz fest location. I hope that means when ozz fest is in ATL Slayer will play around here :D that would kick arse

well what you heard was a lie. they can play wherever they need to, its not up to sharon, its up to te directors of a certain venue. they could play at the same venue the night before OZZFEST as long as they had permission to have a concert there from the director of the place
