Okay, I have the smog test coming up on Friday, and I'm scared shitless. I don't really have any reason to be so, but I have failed it before in another car and don't want to be left unregistered again.
Do you guys have any cheap tips for me to do to prepare for this? I know I need to run the hell out of it before hand, and that I should good gas through it, but what else? Should I get all of weight out of it for less resistance? Increase tire pressure temporarily for the same reason?
NO SUGGESTION IS TOO SMALL! I NEED HELP!
Hehe, thanks!

I don't know how they do the smog test (I live in GA) Do they do it with the car in motion or with the car parked?

well tips for passing any emissions tests i've heard are make sure your oil is clean (changed on schedule) and have the car well warmed up before taking it, a cold enigne can give worse results.

i have also heard to keep your airfilter as clean as possible and make sure your plugs are getting a good spark. i dont really have any solid proof that this makes a diffrence but it seemed to work for me.. so good luck buddy

hey man there is this stuff in a can up here in canada thats called garrented to pass! if it doesn't they pay for whatever you need to get it to pass! i would just give it a tune up and try and get so real high octane gas or race gas to run through it before hand, all these qick fix products are kerosene based, check the bottle!the test is no big deal unless your car is totally fucked they have wide peramiters!

Cool, thanks everyone. Just realized that it's been about 3 months since i changed my oil last. I changed the plugs, wires, TPS, and cleaned the MAF sensor at the same time, as well, so they should be fine.
Do the O2 sensors have anything to do with this? I'm sure I need to change mine, since the previous owner neglected the hell out of this poor bird. Is it very hard to do? I've never done it before - they just seem like they'd be difficult to get to. I'll go look it up in my Haynes. Thanks for all the replies! The test is on Saturday - gotta change the oil & O2 sensors (if necessary) before then.
