well driving today i went down a back road to find a white 4g4d... well it had no frontend it had fenders but bumper, lights rad support and cross member are gone (and motor)... well i see alot of usable parts there....so i go into the shop its parked in front of (this road is like 1/2 mile and has 20 shops for cars) and ask this guy if it was theres. he is like no way man it was dropped off in the middle ov the night, problebly stolen and has the key in it... so i walk up to it and he is like if you take anything i didnt see shit ... well i didnt touch it but there is a full interior (gray) it was a 5 speed, and had that passanger side mirror on it.
its a shame the guy said if it were his he would give it to me for 200 bux...
and the only real damage was the rear bumper which looked like it was dropped off a flat bed tow truck b/c the way its under the car....
how would i get this car if the cops pick it up and bring it somewhere? would i have to waite for them to make sure noone clames it?

You'd probably have to call the cops when they pick it up and ask them about it. Then you'd have to wait for them to run the VIN and contact the owner. But you never know maybe the owner just dropped it off because they didn't want to have to pay to get the car taken away (wishful thinking i guess).

Okay the cops have to impound the car for 30 or 90 days depending on state. Then the car is available for purchase at an auction on if no one claims it or comes forward. The best thing to do would be to run the vin number and go to the dmv to get the owners address and try to give them a call and see what they want to do.

civic_boy, it's probably a lot easier just to go to a boneyard and find a mirror if that's what you really need... hehe.

if half the front end is missing already, and the guy at the impound lot doesnt give a shit wether you take stuff off of it or not, you might as well just go and take whatever it is you need.

like i said im not touching it , i dont need anymore trouble like that... but i will call up the inpound yard after they pick it up... it would make a perfect project car (looks like). but for the most part i dont really think im going to try that hard to get it cuz i have my money eater in the driveway now and dont need another one... it would be nice to have a parts car for all the interior shit thats missing out of my car... and then turn that thing into a beast (hhmm b18c5, b20vtec...lol)... but i dont have that kind of money ...
