I think the fact that he was forced to grow up too fast screwed him up, but it's no excuse to turn your self into a lookalike of Helena Bonham Carter in Planet of the Apes make up.

I used to think that he was talented back in the 80's. He had some good music. Now his music sucks and he looks like....well wait till next week to make a descision because it will change again.

About the childhood thing...the other people who HAVE had bad childhoods don't usually have the $ to screw themselves over like that. Had they the money I'm sure a few would follow suit to Jackson.
Although, I must admit he did take it WAAAY past reasonable.
