KA24DE and KA24E differences

MAy be a stupi noob question, but what is the difference (if any) between the KA24DE and the KA24E... and frankly what does the D stand for.

And which 240 240 came with wich engine?

1989-90 Ka24e (sohc 145hp)
1991-1998 Ka24de (dohc 155hp)

one is a single cam the other twin cam

S = single D = Dual. I think this is in the FAQ too. SOHC is Single Over Head Cam. DOHC is Dual Over Head Cam

Actually, I think the sohc is 135hp. The dohc IS 155 hp.

and if you actually read the article behind it....it says stock horsepower was rated at 140 hp.

that engine they show appears to have mods on it......so.....im going with the 140-145 area along with musicmurfman.

In my Chiltons 1982-92 for Nissan says that stock Ka24e is 135 hp and stock Ka24de is 155 hp. I just double checked it.

so people stop arguing on how much hp each engine has just say this the ka24e has less hp than the ka24de done nothing more.
