Hi folks, am new to the pontiacs. I recently found a 71 at a car lot for sale. The emblem on the front showed that it was a GT32. I have looked for more info on this and have not found any. Anyone have an idea if this is an accurate model or just someone trying to get one over on me? Thanks in advance ...

ive never heard of a GT32 but there are GT-37's and T-37's

If its a Tempest T-37, they are collectible, like a poor man's GTO. All your regular GTO components, such as engines and suspension were available on the T-37.
Depending on its condition and equipment it could be a real steal.

Ok, it was bothering me so bad, I had to go check out the car again. Sometimes my eyes can play tricks with me, but this time it was a GT37, not a GT32 like I previously believed. I guess that makes it a tempest? I'm no expert, but it looked like it had an inline 6 in it. It is in ok shape, could use some work. Guy wants 5k for it. Is that a good deal for the car?

The T-37 originated in 1970 1/2 and was continued through the 1971 model year. 3 body styles. 4 dr sedan, 2 dr sedan and 2 dr hardtop. There were about 43,000 or so built in 1971 with 29,000 or so being 2 dr ht's, 9,000 or so being 2 dr sedans and the remainder being 4 dr sedans.
T-37's had rubber mats (carpet was extra), no guages just lights, 6 cyl., 3 speed on column, cloth/vinyl interior, E78X14 bw tires and not much else. It was the base/entry level Pontiac A body.
For 1971 any Pontiac engine was available in the 2 dr sedans and 2 dr ht's.
The GT-37 was an option on any V8 engine in a 2 dr ht T-37. It consisted of Ralley II wheels with no trim ring and raised white letter G70X14 tires, dual exhaust w/GTO exhaust tips that extend through GTO style real valance panel, heavy duty 3 speed with floor shifter by Hurst, hood hold down pins, special badging and special stripes (2 kinds in '71, eyebrow was early and sword stripe was midyear)

All three of these sites have excellent Q&A sessions where you won't get told to just put a Chevy in it.
That GT-37 is quite a find if it's in any kind of shape. They're getting quite popular due to the supply of GTOs being pretty much gone. One man said earlier, GT-37 is like a poor man's GTO. Maybe, but I always thought that was a Chevelle SS. GT-37 has to be better than that...
