My first races

The past few nights I’ve been trying to get into some races, but people just won’t bite. Tonight was different though, it seemed like there was a potential race around ever corner.

It was maybe 1:00am and I’m crusin down a street in Rocklin CA going to pick up my girlfriend, when I see a 350z not too far in front of me. So I speed up and pace him and look over at him and his beautiful car all the while he’s looking at me. So we’re driving along side by side and I gun it. I let off a little because I didn’t think he was going to bite, but then I heard his engine and so I floored it again. The road was kind of curvy so we would have to break every once in a while. This continued on for maybe a mile with him keeping a steady 1-2 cars on me. At one point I looked down and saw we where going 100+, and I’m not sure what gear he was in but when he shifted his tires chirped. We got to talk for a bit at a stop sign and both complemented each others cars. He offered for another run but that was my turn, so we gave the thumbs up and went on our way.

So I picked up my girlfriend and we where driving around Sacramento CA looking for some races, but nothing was going on. It was about 3:30am and I’m taking her home when I encounter a nice looking black Civic. It’s got the red Honda emblem on the back (What kind of Civic is this?) and exhaust, but I’m not sure what other mods he had done to it. So I pace him and then floor it, hoping he will follow. Same deal with the 350z, I let off because I didn’t think he would race but he does, so I open the throttle again. We’re at 100mph and his front bumper is at my back bumper. At 120 I gained a little bit more on him and I shut down. He took the next exit so I didn’t have a chance to chat with him or anything.
My girlfriend took video of this one if you want to see. You can’t see much because its dark, but you can see my tac and speedo, and hear us. It’s not of the full race because I didn’t think he was going to go for it, so I didn’t tell her to start recording. Lucky she got some of it though.

After all this driving I need some gas, so I pull into a gas station and as I was getting gas, an EVO 8 pulls up! I was amazed, it was so awesome. He ran into the gas station and got something, and when he came out I complimented him on his car and offered him a freeway run. He said no that he had to go to work, and that he loved to race his car and would it if he didn’t have to be to work on time. I said cool and we took off. Maybe I’ll get my chance some other time.

After I dropped her off I was heading home and I noticed this truck coming up behind me fast, so I switch lanes and let him fly by me. I get back in my lane and chase him. All I could see was Dodge and 4x4 on the back, and I think it said sport on the side, but that’s all I saw so I don’t know what kind of truck it was. Anyways nothing interesting, but playing with him made me miss my exit. So I get on the freeway in the opposite direction, and this is when the best one happens. =D

I get on the freeway and there is this yellow Mustang. So I drive by him and slow down, trying to provoke him, but he was no go. So I was about to give up and I saw this care creeping up in the lane on the right of the Mustang. When it catches up I could see it was a Corvette! Anyways, it’s a 3 lane freeway and I’m in the left, Mustang is in the middle and the Corvette is on the right. For a second there I thought it was going to be a three way race, but it turned out to only be a one-on-one. So with the Initial D music going and us lined up, I decided to start and at first neither followed, so I braked and was going to try again, but then I saw the Corvette speeding up and so did I. There was a truck in the middle and right lane, so the Corvette gets past the Mustang, who wasn’t doing anything, and gets behind me. He catching up fast so I pass the truck and get over, he gets past me and, I think, slows down. We are coming up on some traffic so we ditch the crowd and go again. It seemed like whenever he got a car on me he would slow down, but he definitely won. I don’t think he was trying. : ( He got off at the same exit I did, so maybe he lives in my area and I’ll be able to try my luck again sometime.

Now I’m not sure what model the Corvette was, but it looked like a Z06? I’m sure both the Z06 and the C5 would have killed me, but it would be nice to know what it was. Maybe one of you can tell me what it was, or if the guy is a member he can tell me!

I was driving a stock 2002 Cadillac Eldorado ETC. It was a fun night for me!

The black civic with the red emblem that you said can either be an SI or any other model civic and have fake badging.

The vette that you have linked pictures for is the C5.

That's a pretty good night considering you raced 3+ cars. Nice kills, and an even nicer post with the links, and paragraphs. however cliff notes never killed anyone.

Geeze, some are too damn picky!
Id rather organized paragraphs instead of giant blob, sometimes reading it yourself is better then having it read out for you
