7th gen A/C

hmm.. whoever drives a 7th gen.. did you notice that our a/c doesnt use the standard r-134a freon.. just found that out a few days ago when i was adding more freon.. i added more r-134a then saw the sticker on the side which said fill only with hfc-134a.. any a/c specialist in here.. haha .. a/c is running fine the past few days but was just curious

Honda has developed an air-conditioning system using approximatery 10% less HFC134a as compared with 1995. The new system is already being mounted on some models. The new model CIVIC released in 2000 is also equipped with an air-conditioner system using approximately 15% less HFC 134a as refrigerant than its predecessor. The new technologies that have made this reduction in HFC134a use include the following:
I couldnt find much on it seems like its just safer for the environment. You shouldnt have any problems with the r-134a freon used in the 6 gen and below civics. Just seems liek it was more harmeful for the ozone.

haha... i couldnt find much either.. the guys down at autozone and checkers didnt even know what i was talking about too..
