Whats Up Guys,

I've Been Thinking Of Putting A Chip In My 2001 Grand Prix Gt But I'm Not Sure If Its Worth It. Does It Give The Car More Power?

Appreciate The Help!

yeah, mostll give around 20hp at the crank(GTP), or 10hp (naturally aspirated grand prix) if, they also remove the speed limiter, and improve performance by changing shift points, increasing transmission line pressure, enriching fuel devivery in some parts, and Reduceing spark retard (knock retard)as well as doing other things, but most require a slightly modified automobile in order to work properly (new exhause, cool air intake, smaller pulley in a supercharged car, and of course, premium fuel is usualy necessary)

Id say get the pcm. Also you dont need exhuast/cai etc etc to run the DHP/CYA/INTENSE pcms. But w/ those mods you'll notice the power alot easier.

hes right, i was just saying tht for SOME, not all of the chips you do need the modds for them to work well. just make sure youre getting a chip tht doesnt need modds to run to its intended potential. the car will still work, but if the chip is calibrated for cars w/ the modds you will likely lose a lot of the intended horsepower, and it might not be worth the cost of the chip.
