Well I dont know if anyone else has ever done that but,I just finished my turbo kit for my honda(POS) with no wastegate I decided to go try it out.The turbo came off an 84 ford not sure what model.Well anyway I got it out on the road and floored it I obviously forgot to tighten all my clamps down cause they blew off,but anyway we fixed it and off we went ran it all the way up to 16lbs numerous times and wow thats probably the most power ive ever seen come out of that thing. To my surprise the turbo was leaking oil out of it everywhere. So now im down about 400 bucks on getting a new turbo. The motor itself had 138,000 miles on it and when we took off the oil pan to tap it,everything was in perfectly good shape. Now im gonna buy a Turbonetics T04B/T3 and a Deltagate Mark 2 adjustable wastegate and run 8 lbs safely.

The turbo is from an 84' Ford, and you were SUPRISED when it leaked oil :)?

Anyways, at least it was fun while it lasted, right? How's the b7 after that boost?

Too late I already ordered it.Well I took the pan off and none of the wings on the pistons are broke and theres no metal shavings in the pan,and I know for a fact that the person before didnt do anything to the engine. Are the deltagates that bad about boost creep?

no, not for the ammount of exhaust your trying to control. I use a deltagate on my car and it is fine.

I was also running 87 octane. Will it mess up the wastegate though or just have lots of boost creep and then when I put a new engine in and run more boost it wont be a problem

Don't run 87 octane on a force fed engine. It won't screw up your wastgate but it will blow shit up if you start to deatonate
