What should i do about my new car....??!!

Ok here's the deal...
My family and i are moving houses within the next few months so money is pretty tight...so my mum gave me the choice...either get a 4 door car...as you all know probably a rex within say 6 months because i gotta sell my car first and stuff...OR...i have the choice of getting a slighty more expensive car...with 2 doors!...catch is...say end of 2002. MMMMMmmm....big decision...so help me out! Ive saved up to help out for my rex so far...so if i decide to wait...i could save more up for a better car...MMMmmm.....:confused: :confused:

Well...personally I'd save for something better, or if you have a good credit limit, apply for a small loan. Like Deb, we both think the WRX is good if you want speed, but other things about the car are just really annoying. I got a loan and paid it off in 10 months...depends how much you think you can pay off, but it might be an alternative. It also gives you a better credit rating for when you need to borrow for a house

i think you should save up and by a more expesive car, say you stick to hondas, a rex is around lets say $50G, u could save more and buy a S2000 for $74G or maybe more, but by the end of 2002 the car could be cheaper. I dunno the real price. Or even maybe a mercedes benz SLK, second hand of coruse but still good. you get what i mean. the rex are getting to common anyways, and if you save up for a more expensive car, it would be worth the wait. or even maybe buy a classy car like the new Lexus LS430. *dribble* damn that is one hot luxury mama! hehehe.

Yeah...but like you said...IM getting so sick of my car...and so many problems...!! I found a s2000 here, (since i been looking at a new car for a while now) it was owned by a chick, never driven, and was going for 55,000, but i reackon i coulda got it cheaper. SO theres an idea.

S2000, there was once in the sunday telegraph a s200 for $13G, but the car had little damage in front and was not registered. but everthing else was kool! that menas engine and all was good except for the front bumper and hood i think. fixing the front and register the car would cost around $18-20G. so yeah, that was pretty cheap aye? hehe. told my mum about that but she wouldnt buy it coz she say the car probably has "bad luck" pfft! :rolleyes: asian ppl these days! hehehe

I find that very hard to believe, awhile ago Strong brothers (biggest honda wreckers in NZ) had just the F20C motor for $NZ14,000, that was just the motor, no car at all. I cant believe Australia has them that much cheaper than here.

We both use dollars, but theyre not the same.

Our dollar only buys around 80 Australian cents.

If the s2000 was only that much, it was probably written off, that's why its not registered, and it wasn't fixed. Would you really want to fork out that much to fix a car, when its already been in an accident.

no no quyen, its no badly damaged, its only damage on the front, the engine all everything else is ppperfect! and to fix that would proababy cost like $800- $2000max. and if you register it, probably an extra $600- $1000? Im just guessing quyen, but if i bought a whole new S2000, it would cost $83 000, with full options. when i can get this one for way less. but yeah, its gone nowz! hehehe. still buggin my mum about it!! hhehe

Did you actually see the car, or are you going by what's in the paper....

A lot of the time the paper may say one thing...eg. a1 condition, and you go see the car, and its crap. I've had a look at a lot of 2nd hand cars so I know.

well s2000 is 65k brand new here, nz dollars, so for u it wks out cheaper than 83k eh. Plus ur dollar is stronger. Dunno wat it is worth to send it there, i heard around 5knz??? guys help?

How difficult is it to import a car from NZ, if its pretty simple why isnt there more 4G and 5G SiR's in Aussie, theyre worth so much more over there wouldnt it be worth while to import some from NZ?

exactly...if its soo cheap to import.,..why doesnt everyone do it?

I know, u guys have reel strict terms on importing dont you? And how nuts would it be to import from Japan, then export to Aussie. Man, it would be good for NZ, but realistically, this trick prob wont work.

I been talking to a few folk, and one guy said that he is moving to Perth from Auckland, and he taking a car with him, and quoted a simular price on wat i said before, around 5k. However here's the catch, you have to own the car for 12 months, so thats why its cheap to bring over.

BUt i have a plan, U gimmi 50k, ill buy the s2000 now, and in a year ill bring it ova and "sell" it to u for free!! Then u got cheap car. Oh, I promise no to drive it. :hehe:

Hmmm... having just got back from driving a friend's new S2000 (hard), I'd buy an ITR instead and have the difference in cash left over. The S2000 looks good and on paper, it goes faster... but the ITR would own it on a track IMO :)
