Progress: 360 Modena

Hello again everyone,
What a difference between Tamiya and Aoshima, the ferrari 360 tamiya seems effortless compared to my skyline build. At any rate, engine block, interior, and suspension is done; however, the body has been hell since I wanted to add a body kit.Finally after 2 different body kits, I settled with this. the two previous one was screwed up due to fitment issue, but this time it fits like a charm. Its been hard for me to try and mold a bodykit when the ferrari underbody fits just right above the front bumper. Well here are the pictures next to my previous skyline.

I'm surprised i like the body work on the 360. Keep up the good work

This is how I wanted the body kit to look like at first, but I decided to have more openings on the front to make it look more aggressive. enjoy!

Im keeping my faith for this Modena even after 2 failed bodykits, I will post for more progress later on this week.

Are you modifying the rear bumper also?

volks racing wheels are awesome, but they are too expensive!! :(
I will not be modifying the rear since I love the ferrari back just as it is. Maybe I might put a diffuser plate like in viper, but not sure if it will ruin the look on a ferrari. I'll settle with the bumper and sideskirts only :)

Hello again fellow modelers, finally had the time to post pics of my progress. Here are 3 teaser pics of my current project Tamiya 360 Modenna fresh from the sink! Mods on the shell include: Lower front lip and sideskirts for both sides. No modification for the rear but I will put carbon fiber decals on the underbody panel. Bare in mind that this is only preliminary coats on the paint (4 light coats total). I will add another thicker coat tommorow, polish & wax and then add a coat or two of gunmetal paint. I did a test on a junk shell and this combination results in metal flakes gun-metallic color which is pretty cool :) Ofcourse, I'll add a few coats of clear as I progress.

nice job, that under coat of silver looks like rust-o-leum silver metallic... wut silver is that? btw, hope it turns out perfect

My finish coat will be plasti-kote gunmetal paint and since this will only be a thin coat, I hope the paint will be ok when I use rubbing compound

That is some big flake in the silver paint. Its gonna need quite alot of clear. Looks very nice.
