ok ok.....my 87 fiero gt is ruuning good until i noticed something today....i was sitting at the light it is a 5 speed right...i was in neutral and it would rev up to 1700 rpm and then go back to 1500 and then back up...i did have the air on would that affect it? ....and i was checking it outside a min ago i turned it on without the air on....and thwe volts only went a lil above 13...and when i shut the car off...it seems to shut off hard....
plus i have also noticed on the car my oil pressure....when it is ideling it goes from lil above 40 to 80 and the car's sound gets real deep and then it jumps back to lil above 40....so i am not sure about that...ya know
someone plz help me
*note i did put on a new ultimate dogbone today....it will do anything....by means of shuting off rough? also i had to pry that damn thing so much for it to get in there....and now when i rock the car the engine does not move at all man....not even a little give
*note...i need to know as soon as possible becasue i got to go to places soon and i dont want to wreck it anymore than it is ya know...

You might have knocked something loose - loose plug wires would cause arching and make the rpms jump all over. If that's the case, the crazy oil pressure might just be from the engine rpm fluctuating. I wouldn't worry to much about the charging system, 13v is plenty.

alright well i will go check all of the wires and see....could a loose wire also cause the thing to shut off a little hard?

High idle means EGR, vacuum leak, or sensor problem

i just dropped it off at the pontiac dealer and they said it will take bout 2 or 3 before they can look at it....(check for the problem) then they said they might not be able to fix it, so i said just tell me what is wrong and i will fix the fucking thing....i think that guy got kind of scared of me lol anyways we will see.....anymore ideas on what it could be

could the problem be the throttle position sensor?

if it's loose and vibrating, yea, you bet. At least the weird idle. The oil pressure is something else... maybe a bad gauge sending unit.

well the problem is a vacuum leak which sucks becasue they took off the plenum and found it....the pipe is broken plus i think the seals too...well they told me about how much it will cost plus the seals and shit will take a day but the pipe that is broken is discontinued so they are going to try and weld it together....so i hopw to see my car by wednesday maybe shit they have had it over a week.....i just hope that pipe does not break...cuz i am wondering how long it will stay togerther if they can weld it.....

Don't you hate those sneaky vacuum leaks?
Rather then them welding the pipe, try getting a used one from Kick Hill

Does pipe mean EGR tube?
EGR pipe: PN 10137017 available at www.gmpartsdirect.com for $58.17 plus shipping. Lists at $102.05.

yeah i hate sneaky shit...=( but at least this is the problem......even if they do weld the thing...i could still get one later and put it on right??? ya know just in case it breaks.....that probably is the pipe but i am totally not sure...(you guys always seem to be right, so it probably is) lol...all i want is my car back =.....(

As long as they don't tig weld the damn thing to the intake lol
If it were the EGR tube I can't see how it would be discontinued, being a required emissions part you couldn't (in theroy) pass a smog test without. Probably the vacuum port for the power brakes or something.

hey everyone...well i did get my car back......i got another question though...it seems that i have to pump the clutch a couple of time before it goes into frist.....i checked the clutch fluid and it is fulll....so do u think maybe becasue it was parked almost for two weeks??? i have been messing with it all day ....and i guess it sems to be getting better but i am not sure (when i was parked behind my house and i put the clutch in....it went into all gears right after another with no problem....i and i did that for bout 10 mins...) (it just seems when i am sitting at a light or stop sign it just does not want to go in....and it is not all the time..becasue some times it will go right into first)....so just tell me if ou all know anything....ok
bye casey

Do the gears grind when it does that? If not, it's your shift linkage and not your clutch.
The shifter cables could need adjusting, they do stretch a little over time.
If the gears grind, it's probably the clutch master cylinder seals going out. If it was anything else in the clutch hydraulic system you'd lose fluid. It can't be a bent pedal or clutch fork because then it would be hard shifting all the time, not just on and off.

no it does not grind at all....and it only happens every now and then...nt all the time....like i went out for a drive bout an hour ago....it was working fine until bout 15 mins...then it acted up one time...then quit and then did it again....i checked the clutch fluid a some of it went down...and i think by tomorrow i am probably going to have to add some....yeah i was thinking that maybe the fluid is not getting to the clutch...so that is why i have to pump it every now and then for it to go in smoothly...it just seems that it is running low of fluid but it isnt...yeah kow that feeling?

You may have some air in the hydraulic line and some bleeding (PITA) may be needed.
