Every time some publication talks about the Camaro returning GM squashes the rumors ASAP. Not a good sign, as it is Chevy would rather make front drive Monte Carlos, Impalas, and Malibus. Lets just hope there are no plans for a front drive Camaro.

There's a RWD coupe coming from Chevrolet...it just might not be called Camaro.

I'd heard that as well, it has to do with a clause in a GM - UAW contract stating that any car named Firebird or Camaro would have to be built in Montreal. However the Montreal plant was not only closed but has been demolished. Why can't they revise the contract to let them build a Camaro. Rumor is it'll just be called the SS or something else.

Don't forget that 2006 will also bring us a lighter restyled 400hp GTO and a Hemi Charger with 425hp.

As for the RX7 rumors, they keep getting stronger by the day as Mazda's rotary racing efforts grow. Grand Am Cup is home to a team of winning RX8's, and Mazda is readying a rotary powered competitor for ALMS competition.

The time is ripe, especially with RX8 sales steady, the Miata readying itself for a new generation, and racing successes growing. Besides, Mazda does want to participate in Speed World Challenge GT racing, but have determined that the RX8 would be uncompetitive against the Viper Competition Coupes, Corvette Z06's, and Audi RS6's.

As well rumors abound of a new Toyota Supra possibly with V-8 power! Someone asnswer this question though, how come writers in import magazines do nothing but rip V-8s and say import 4s make more power per liter all V-8s are gas hogs bla bla bla bash bash bash etc. Then when Toyota makes a V-8 it's incredibley cool? Import fans as well? What's up with that? Anyway I'd love to see the Supra and RX7 return as well as a better styled GTO with more power, and a Charger (it's a shame though that Chrysler only likes 4 doors noe though) maybe something from Ford that's rear drive other than the Mustang maybe a Falcon? Though with the forth coming 500 that might not happen, maybe a juiced up Crown Vic? As it is the future looks bright.
