rear view mirror

the auto dimming feature of my rear view mirror is not working...I've checked the fusses and they all seem okay ....anything else to check

common -- buy a new one -- some are on e-bay, or go to fordpartsnetwork.com....

I replaced my auto-dimming mirror twice before going to the OEM manual replacement. Each lasted about 2 years, then faded from the outside in. Replacement cost of the mirror is about $90 (discounted), but only $15 for the manual mirror. It's a shame that the mechanical auto-dimming mirrors of the late 80's Lincoln Town cars won't work with the LS!

Autonation.com has replacments for just under a hundred, shipped. That's a little less than what you'll pay at the dealer. They're few and far between on Ebay. I recently bid on one and my $78 bid got beat, so there's not that much savings by going that route... and, of course, there's not warranty, return or exchange via Ebay. They're not covered under any extended warranty so, if you're nearing the end of your original warranty, I'd give it a close look to see if it's working properly.
