My step dad changed my water pump... then I took the car for a spin and my temp. guage went all the way up came down and back up and still does it.. It never did that b4... was he suppose to do something besides just installing the new one in? do I have to change the thermostate too?

Sounds like you need to bleed the air out of the system.
On top of the tstat housing there is a bleeder valve. Open in and run the car to temp. When you see coolant coming out of the valve close it.

do you mean that lil screw? I did tell him to do that and he did .. so I leave the car on and just open up the screw till the coolant comes out... I heard air in there too..do I wait till that air also stops or just at the first sing of coolant? and do I replace the coolant I let out?
