G'day folks, iv had a look over the posts here, but i have a few questions about my car, a early model 1985 944, bout 130,000miles
1, heat come from lots of places, when the heater is off, it comes from under the dash, and from the where the gear stick is(auto) how do i stop it
2. My sunroof goes up no problems.. and it goes down fine, but the brackets at the back, wont move from side to side, so i can detach the whole thing, i know im meant to have the key in the 2nd position(just before accessory), but does nothing, is this easy fixable??
3. i am 90% sure its a head gasket, and not a head cracked, but i have oil in the water, i need to get the car to a repair store, 70miles away.. can i drive, or is that just really risking it
Heh, if its cracked head, then im gunna be outta cash for ever :'(
thanks for any help people :)

Check your oil cooler seals first before you jump into your head gasket

1) there should be two boots (there are on manuals) at the gearshift lever. Most likely the inner rubber boot has cracked and probably needs replacing. This problem can be amplified by exhaust leaks so you may want to check that out as well.
3) Headgasket leaking: doesn't that mostly give you smoke out your exhaust? I'm with 930guy on the oil cooler seals. You can drive it there, but you'll need to flush the oil and water out of the engine. Don't just keep on driving it. Oil pressure may be higher while the engine is running forcing the oil into the water but once the engine is shut off, the opposite happens. water will still hold pressure and leak into the oil. NOT COOL! Pun intended.
