130mph vs Teg

So today while I was driving down the deserted street of Irvine blvd. An Integra pulled up behind me and started riding my butt... the speed limit is 65 so i was doing about 75.

I switched lanes to let him pass, or so he thought, and I saw him gun it, so I was like, what the hell... its a perfectly good time to see what my car does at higher speeds.

He started catching me and passed me at about 100 mph.. he was about 1/2 car length in front... After that he didn't accelerate as fast as he was and i started to catch him.. i got in front of him at about 120 and kept going for a little while after that, After i knew he wouldn't catch me we slowed down and he drove next to me until we hit a light... he was like "What do you have in that thing?!" I was like "A ZC DOHC motor swap, intake and exhaust"

I don't think he knew what the ZC was because he looked confused. He told me all he had was vtec. I am not sure what kibnd of teg it was but it was a happy victory and he was a nice guy. Yay for everyone!

I have crabs. They don't have VTEC.

not trying to start shit but if he has vtec then he must be one sucky shifter. he has the same dohc engine as you except he has vtec as well.

i used to own a manual 90 integra. one day a friend was driving that and jer was in my sohc vtec civic. jer handed our friend in our teg his ass. now my sohc vtec has the same hp as your zc. if our 90 teg did have vtec, it would have been a different story.

you didn't specify which type of teg it was. for the fun of it, let's guess it's a GS-R (or has that engine)since it has vtec the approx. specs of those are as follows:

92-93 Integra GS-R:
B17 (DOHC VTEC)
Power: 160 bhp @ 7600
Redline: 8000 rpm
Torque: 117 lb-ft @ 7000

OR

94+ Integra GS-R
B18C1
Power: 170 bhp @ 7600
Redline: 8200 rpm
Torque: 128lbs-ft @ 6200

compared to:
ZC
Power: 137 bhp @ 6800
Redline: 7200 rpm
Torque: 108 lb-ft @ 5700

i don't care if a crx is 600lbs lighter. 600 is a piss in the can. that is so small so many things can make the difference. what if the driver of the crx is a fat ass? what is the integra has gutted interior. shoot, what is the integra has a stage 2 clutch vs. stock clutch.

i know a fully lightened b16 crx that is only .04 secs. faster than a non lightened b16 sedan. i know a 91 civic si (d16a6) that every weekend lays out a dohc zc crx. why? because other factors come into play

Why do u find it so hard to believe that his crx can beat a GSR

first off he already did beat 1. i just simply said don't expect that all the time.

i own and have owned many honda/ acura. shoot i own a 93 ls and a 97 gs right now. i also own a 91 b16 si and an 89 y8 si. maybe that is why i find it hard to believe it would happen on a daily basis.

for crying out loud, a gsr can hold it's gears longer. that alone enough could be the "x" factor....

my 89 sohc vtec si can get the 91 dohc vtec si off the line EVERY TIME. why? i have a stage 2 clutch + other mods, the b16 hatch does not. now just because i get him off the line does not mean shit. i have to shift much earlier. the 89 is a couple hundred lbs lighter than the 91...even tho the 91 is heavier, it's 160hps is greater than the 130-ish the 89 has. the b16's hp and high rev line kills the lighter more modded y8, even tho the b16 hatch weighs more

edit: in case i lost anybody...jer daily drives the 91 b16 si. i daily drive the 89 y8 si. so when i say "he" i am refering to jer, lol

I agree. You will not get the same out come everytime you race this guy. You guys where at a roll also. It would be a different story at a stand still. Well congrats on the win take it in stride and dont go around like a little school girl saying you beat this guy. hey chris, the door now opens. the LCA was replaced on the gs tonight. IF it had even 1 single seat mounted in it, jer would have done burnouts in the street :grinno:

Right on wooo whooooooo glad to hear its going great and nothing was to bad. Thats what milk cartons where designed for. seat belt and crate. hehe I hope it will be driveable before we get up there.

don't get me wrong, i'm not hating on the crx. i eat, sleep, breathe honda/acura. i'm pro-choice in that dept...pick one, i like 'em all. however, you can't always go by numbers. there are so many factors beyond curb weight and est. HP.

I know it wasn't a GSR. But i think he took his decals off the back cause all it said was Integra. It had a sunroof and it was green. And I won't go around boasting because I am not like that, i beat him and that is the end of it, I am not gonna be like... "i Pwn tegs!" or anything

It probobly was a GSR. My friend has a 99 dark green GSR with a sunroof exactly like you described. Ive never seen an ls in that color. maybe its just me. But anyways I dont think its too far fetched that you won. Its not like you owned him. I mean you won but If it was stock it runs mid to high 15 depending on he driver and a stock zc should run around there also.
