I don't think so, because the enamel's thinner may eat throught the tamiya paint. I think.

If this is true, could enamel even eat through future floor polish? (question to others, not you dennis, hope I helped!)

no, it's the other way around. model master/testors spray can go over tamiya spray. but if you put tamiya spray over testors, the top coat will crack-had the misfortune of finding this out the hard way.

Tamiya acrylic is pretty strong-I doubt that Testors enamel will hurt it, but you're wise to test it on something first. Lacquers over enamels/acrylics are bad news, but enamels over lacquers are okay, and I think dried Tamiya acrylic can handle enamel over it. You can most definitely layer Tamiya acrylic over Testors enamel.

:iagree: I've had no problems putting enamels on acrylics, even though it's been just detail painting. It's a fast way to do multiple color detail painting, start with acrylics. Go on with enamel and keep going color by color and you will be done in an instance. It doesn't even have to be thoroughly dry before you put on the next color as they have different solvents that doesn't affect one another

Water on Oil = Problem

Oil on Water = Should be fine

So yes, model master will work over Tamiya Acrylic. Just work with mist coat
