Not so unrelated to Xterra stuff, BUT this looks like a way to possible beefen the Nissan IFS system? I know it would be lots of work, but would be damn near bullet proof! I had an '89 930 and upgrade the motor to over 600hp and never did anything to the Driveaxles or CV's. Very tough parts.

This is the second time I've read about the 930 half shafts (etc) being used well for IFS.....maybe in the Xterra future?

The half shafts are strong, and work well, but are still a lot of money. Without a very radical suspension setup, they won't help the Xterra much in current form.

For that kind of money you could darn near install a Dana 44 straight axle. You gain very little with this conversion for the money. It's kind of like spending $400 on a Waag. If it is an off-road vehicle, save the money and buy an ARB or other much stronger bumper. In the long run you will be the better for it.
