Building a b18a

I'm thinking on building up the b18a that I was going to use for my integra and use it in my hatch. Now I know it has a lot of miles on it so I'd like to rebuild the bottom end as well as do some head work.

So what would good rods and pistons be to put into this? I'd like to keep it all motor, so I'd like it to be able to rev to around 8k. So what kind of valve train work would I be looking at to accomlish this? I'm acutally looking for a head package but still haven't found one, any links would be appreciated. Also, what would be a good set of rods and pistons to use? Would I have to hone the cylinders, or is it just an overall good idea to do would building a motor? Who makes a good set of cams for the b18a? And after I do all of this what numbers would I be looking at? Like HP wise?

I've done a lot of research in the integra forum and I heard that just a good set of cams would give me a 18-22 hp jump. Is this true or are those numbers a bit high? I'd be pretty happy with hitting the 200 hp mark, so is that a hard number to hit n/a?

Any opinions and links to more info are greatly appreciated.

to be able to safely go to 8k with a 18a your definetly going to need new valvetrain. I've got crower stage 2 cams and crower springs, retainers and all that and i love them, its a nice step up in power from the stock stuff and not terribly expensive (around 500 before install). as far as bottom end goes, i went with gsr rods and some pr3 pistons to bump up the compression but i'm honestly not very experienced with bottom end capabilites. best of luck to ya

as far as hp goes, the cams will definetly get you around 20 more ph but that still leaves you a long way from 200hp

So with the vavle train work you have done, are you able to rev to 8k? And do you acutally make power up there?

yea i've got my prm limiter set at 8500 and no problems so far (knock on wood) and i definetly get plenty of power all the way up but you'll have to have a decent exhaust if you want the same results. On a restrictive exhaust the power will really drop off around 6k

200 hp can be done with a n/a motor. Especially if your willing to put the work into the head and bottom end. If this is going into a hatch, you will see good numbers..........................fISH.
