Im building a 67 camaro right now, but it only has a ten bolt rear end in it which definitely isn't going to be strong enough with the tourque my engine will be producing. Does anyone out there know what other types of cars might be able to just swap a 12 bolt without having to make major adjustments or any at all. I used to be a ford guy, but Ive switched over to the dark side, hopefully someone on here can help me out, thanks alot.

I dont know what other vehicles would be a direct swap. Unless you were to find a 12 bolt rearend from another camaro. If youve got the cash you could always go with an aftermarket 12 bolt or 9 " rearend that would be a direct fit.

your only direct swaps are from first gen camaros and 68-71 novas.

Does first generation Camaros only include 67-69?

Yeah, thats one of my options....but those aftermarket rear ends are so damn expensive, its definitely one of my options, but more like a last resort

i've seen some companys that will make a custom ford 9" rear end for about $500. this is just the housing, no axles or differential included and is custom fabbed to bolt right in. then you could get the differential and axles off ebay for a few hundred. a ford 9" will hold up to about anything you can throw at it

What 10 bolt is it? is it the 10 bolt 7.5 ring gear or the 10 Bolt 8.5 ring gear???? if it is the 8.5 10 bolt, you will have no problem at all my friend.

I am sure it is a 7.5" ring gear 10 bolt. The corporate 10 bolts didn't come out till the 70's. But you could also expand your choice of rear ends to the corporate 10 bolts if you want to stay cheap, but I doubt they will just fit right in.
