KA-t drivetrain and rev

Ive been wondering, if you built the bottom end up, and ran relatively high boost (15psi). On top of boost, have a lightweight flywheel and driveshaft to free up the revs. Couldnt a KA-t be a suitable drift engine?
I dont care about high revs, as long as i have much power and torque down low, thats all i need. correct? think out of the box on this one.

Yes. But, whilst drifting you are usually bouncing off the rev limiter. Unless you prefer to drift with low end, although it would be much harder to hold.

KA's are low-end torque monsters in NA trim, a turbo makes em that much better.

A fellow up here uses a KA24E with a T and is just slower than Z06s.

thats why it usally takes 3 or 4 tries at it before you get everything working!

you can drift a STOCK KA24DE ... of course you could drift a turbo one, drifting is not about what motor your have, its about how much skill you have.

Well, skill comes into play, yes. But a good setup is key.

i wouldn't say its key... and i am not talking out of my ass, i have watched a guy drift and automatic, stock s13 ka24de with cut springs, as good as anyone ive ever seen short of the pros... the point is, a better setup would help... but driver skill is 90% of it.

Skill and technique are very important, but you still need horsepower to get up to speed, that's why in D1 there's alot of 400+ hp cars and few 180hp AE86s, but some people still manage to win with Corollas. lol
