Improving my 1/4 ET

Last night I took my stang to the drags. It's in Phoenix so the weather conditions pretty much sucked (102-105 degrees with some monsoon humidity). This was my first run in my car and needless to say I was disappointed in my ET. The good news is out of 4 passes I beat everyone (3 imports with noise makers + 1 Mustang GT). All cars were running pretty slow in the heat, a 2003 Corvette ran it's best at 14.13.
1. My best ET was 14.69 (RT = .568 (bad), 60 ft = 2.504, MPH = 98.26)
This was with no passenger.
2. Lost my slip (2nd best ET 14.7? no passengers)
3. ET with 200 lb passenger (RT = .581 (bad), 60 ft = 2.347 (best of all passes), MPH = 97.12)
4. ET with 200 lb passenger (RT = .193, 60 ft = 2.518, MPH = 96.71) At this point I think the heat was becoming too much a factor. You could fry an egg on my "cold air" pipe.
See my signature line for mods. Currently I am running stock 16 X 7 wheels with 225/55/16 Gforce TA's. Due to lack of traction I was in line with the imports the first 40-50 ft. If I ran with slicks or a wider more sticky tire I wonder how much my ET would improve? From a skill standpoint I felt I hit all the gears just right and stayed off the throttle just enough to avoid too much spin. I would like to be well into the 13's so Any suggestion to improve these times are welcome.

The easiest thing you can do is wait until you get a good day to run on. Usually we plan to go on 50-60 degree days where are cars will get great E.T.'s. They stop running at 10:45 where i live and usually that's when the air is best so we will pickup a final (and usually best) run then. Then heat is KILLING you. As well as your 2.5 60'. Also, do you powershift? That helps a good bit too.

Waiting for 50-60 degree days will be until mid January! As far as shifting goes I am nailing it hard. Lots of rubber in gears 1-3 which of course isn't that hard to do when the asphalt is 130 degrees. Yes the heat is a killer. I was thinking of running an air to air cooler backed up by a water to air after cooler. Anyone run a combo like that? I think my problem is traction on the low end and too much AZ heat.
