Venom vs NOS

Hey Guys,
I wanted to get a Nitrous System to add some boost at times when I need it and I ran across these systems, from what I can tell they are new to the market and seem very safe from the specs provided from the makers of the products.
Here they are first up is the VCN-2000 Computer Controlled Nitrous System http://www.venom-performance.com/nf/html/products/v2000/v2000.htm#v2000

Specs
e VCN-2000 (patent pending) is the most advanced Nitrous Injection System in the world. Our Advanced Dual Processor Management Module combined with our Patent Pending Nitrous Metering Valve ensures optimum performance. The module is user programmable using our proprietary software (available to you for free downloading at our website www.Venom-Peformance.com). This advanced system allows you to program how much nitrous is injected with the click of a mouse. You can custom program three modes of operation: Linear Mode, Drag Mode, or Timed Mode. Examples of how the three operating modes appear in the Venom software are illustrated to the right.
You can custom program the module to obtain maximum performance gains from 10-175+ horsepower. There are no "pills" or "jets" necessary. Our module ensures the optimum air fuel mixture by using your existing fuel injectors and oxygen sensor. This advanced module ensures the optimum air fuel ration at any bottle pressure and will automatically terminate the introduction of nitrous if the air fuel mixture becomes too lean. This feature greatly reduces the risk of engine damage. Our driver display constantly informs you of critical engine data. RPM, Injector Pulse Width, Throttle Angle, Exhaust Status (rich/lean), Operating Mode and System Status are all displayed.
Second is the New "NOSzleTM" Direct Port E.F.I. http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/ProdLine/Products/NOS/NOSNS/NOSzle.html

Specs
Now you can install an individual-cylinder nitrous system on any electronically fuel-injected car without drilling a single hole in your intake manifold!
Systems inject additional fuel where it was designed to be, offering the huge horsepower gains of "wet" nitrous oxide injection without the dangers of "hosing"
Systems atomize fuel injector fuel and enrichment fuel for maximum power (the small atomized droplets evaporate more easily)
Safe! Easy! Powerful! Noszle? channels additional fuel and nitrous using your existing fuel injector. Spray is aimed directly at inlet valve. Unique spray geometry prevents the spray bounce-back into the intake plenum that can cause cylinder-to-cylinder fuel variations. No fuel puddling that can cause backfires and damage. NOTE: SKU numbers ending in F are factory shipped and may take a little longer to reach you.
Calibration. Flexible high-pressure hoses allow jets to be easily retrieved from nozzles. Jets can be tuned to run at MPFI system fuel pressures (45 psi) or secondary fuel system pressures (5-7 psi). Individual cylinder calibration compensates for intake manifold and cylinder-head variations.
Easy Installation. Precision-machined 3-piece billet aluminum Noszle? installs in most 4-, 6- and 8-cylinder engines. It fits between injector (all bands) and manifold?no drilling, reaming, welding or gluing. No engine modifications for most cars, no need to remove intake manifold. High-pressure hose is flexible enough for any engine configuration?no tube bending.
Complete. Kits include 10-lb. bottle, solenoids, poly lines, brackets, fuel safety switch, electronic wide-open-throttle switch, wiring and hardware.
Please Note: Low-range horsepower gains (50 to 70 HP for 4-cylinder, 75 to 100 HP for 6-cylinder, 100 to 150 HP for 8-cylinder) can be achieved with stock engine components/parts. Higher gains require upgrades like forged pistons and stand-alone fuel system. A stock fuel pump should be adequate, but check to make sure it meets your vehicle's new specifications. Use only premium-grade pump gas (92+ octane) or unleaded racing fuel. A high-output ignition and a freer-flowing exhaust may enhance performance. Do not use aftermarket chips or other devices that advance ignition timing.
So what do you think?
Does anyone here own either of the 2?
Thankx,
MAX
P.S.
Both are high priced so I know I will get some people telling me to "Just get a bigger motor or Get a turbo, etc.." But I would just like to have a boost once and awhile when I need it and not all the time, so we don't need to get in to that debate here.. Thankx.. :)

They would both work equily well. The Venem is a dry system and the NOS is a wet system. Most people believe that a dry system is safer on an unbuilt motor but books I'v read suggest that if fuel is bumped up though the factory injectors its just as safe (like the venom does). The easyest to install would probably be the the NOS system. Remember not to use more than 50hp on a non built motor. Either one you choose will probably work great.

When I get around to it, I'm going to inject propane into my car instead of NOS or Venom. It burns cleaner, and is safer than either for an engine, now...of course its not as good as either...but each has its own usage. I'm not racing for money, so I dont really care.

Let us know how far you blow those pistons, ok?

Hey 91civichatch2571,
I would like to know why you think Zex is better, I have not thought of going with that system but if you have any thing to add to the reason why you like it I would really like to know. I have seen the Zex system but becuase the price was low I thought that maybe it was becuase it was a lesser grade system.
Thankx,
MAX

zex is one of the safest and easiest kit's to install on the market.
it's almost like zex and honda go hand in hand when you think about zex you think about it in a honda most of the time. alot of people use it and trust it.

You do realize that propane is a fuel, and not an oxidizer like Nitrous. You would only be running pig rich w/ no gain in power.
Possible engine damage due to an excessive rich condition which in turn could cause EGT's to skyrocket. Propane injection on a diesel is drastically different than in a gas engine. Diesels run much leaner AFR's than gas so the added fuel can be beneficial.
What you are proposing is like adding the extra fuel for nitrous but w/o the oxygen.
If you do this you could have yourself one badass little BBQ that can make four 75MM diameter burgers at a time.

I never had nitrous in my car but i like zex the best because they really are the safest kits ive seen on ther market. Crazy easy to install and I think their always one step above NOS. Another brand i like is NX.

i heard zex isnt as good as u mugs are saying, also wet vs dry, id go wet for sure, cause u wil run lean other wise and we all know lean isnt good, u need the extra fuel to compensate... but i say just buy my turbokit im selling and toss the spray lol

WTF propane? What the hell is that gonna do for u, they use propane in forklifts and all for gas milage, that shit isnt gonna do anything for ur car. Where did u come up with that idea anyways?

propane benefits deisel motor's, they make kit's for them just like nitrous kit's. you can even have propane injection and nitrous injection together. a company called bullydog makes kit's for deisel truck's.
dry is fine for small shot's 30-75hp anything above that I would say a wet system is necessary. A dry zex kit with 93 octane and proper plugs will run good and safe forever. Im not knocking the venom or n.o.s. system but that's alittle too much for a street car if you ask me with the intention of just a race here and there.
