i have a 2000 grand am se 3.4l (auto of course), basic question, has any one ever tinted there windows, i'm thinking about doing it my self, but a friend says it's too hard and thinks i should take it in and pay someone to do it, but if every one with a rice rocket is doing it, it can't be that hard. what do u guys think ?????

Window tinting is not that difficult, but you have to be very careful and have the patience for it.... I did it myself for my 02 GT, the problem i encountered was the weather stripping around the windows has a felt edge to it, since my car was only a couple weeks old the little fuzz went on my windows so when i put the tint on the tint had extremely tiny little bubbles on it. eventually it started to peel off the windows. I finally brought it in and paid someone do it for me it came out much better plus they got it all the way to the edge of the glass.

I wouldn't do it myself and I have tinted windows before. Trust me you can easily rip your rear window defroster from working. I had a mettalic blue tint applied to my car and there was a little slice in the middle of the tint after I cleaned my windows and it sucked. I ended up removing the tint. Thankfully it was only the second day so it wasn't fully set in.

$80.00 down the drain. Plus now I like it to where people can see me and I can see them. It makes the car feel more open. I am no longer into tinting my cars. YOur choice :sunglasse

I would take it to someone reputable in the area of tinting, someone around where you live. If you don't do it right it looks like complete shit and if you don't get a chance to get it off before it sets, it's a real pain in the ass.
